Mumble apk12/31/2023 ![]() ![]() I've identified this as an issue on my Quest itself as it will now randomly go to sleep during use of any application :/ I had an issue sometimes where the headset would go to sleep even if I was wearing it and I think it might be related to the Keep Screen awake option inside of the Mumla app.If the headset goes to sleep from taking it off, Mumla will stop and you will need to Quit the game and Force Stop Mumla before opening everything again. If Mumla does not continue running because of a Microphone prompt when you launch a game, keep restarting the game until you have the option to not ask for permission again. If Mumla does not continue running when you launch a game Force Stop it from the Settings Oculus Quest 2 app and try again. Finally, launch your game and Mumla should keep running!.You can do this by clicking on the three vertical dots which appear when you hover over an app and selecting Permissions or by finding it in the Oculus Settings app. Deny microphone access to apps and games you play while using Mumla otherwise people in the call will not be able to hear you.If you get stuck there are plenty of tutorials on how to use Mumble online :) You can make your own Mumble server or use one of the publicly available ones if you are unable to. You will now need to add a server and connect to a voice channel. Close the Android Settings Menu and open Mumla from Unknown Sources.Go back to the first Mumla menu and again click the Advanced options at the bottom, scroll down and Allow Mumla to display over other apps.Find Mumla in the list of Apps and set it to Not optimise battery usage. Go back by pressing B and open the Advanced options at the bottom, scroll down and open the Battery options and then click Battery optimisation.Open the Permissions and Allow Microphone and Storage access.Open Settings Oculus Quest 2 from Unknown Sources, and find Mumla in the Apps section.Download and Install on your Quest: Mumla (F-Droid) and Settings_Oculus_Quest_2.apk (Not sure if I'm allowed to share it but you can find it with on Google). So here are the Steps I took to get it working: However, you could use a Mumble-Discord bridge if you have a VPS and know how to set it up to be able to communicate with others on Discord (Or use Voicemeeter on a PC to bridge the audio between the Mumble and Discord apps like I currently am). The ideal app would be Discord since it is easier to make servers and everybody already uses it, but the best I could get out of it in-game was half a second of audio whenever you pressed the Oculus Home button. So after some testing I found that the Android Mumble client, Mumla, can run in the background whilst playing games on the Quest! I recently got fed up of Oculus Party chat due to the large amount of delay and the fact that you are still unable to join parties whilst not owning a VR headset to talk to your friends so I was determined to find a solution. You no longer need to do this! You can use any app with Audio and Mic in the background by using Oculess! My point about party chat being terrible still stands tho No NFT or Crypto content is permitted (including self-promotion).Please try to link to the official Oculus post, for example, instead of a tweet of a news article.Generic let’s play content/360 degree is not allowed.
